Arm Workouts

The tool of choice for arm workouts is the dumbbell. Dumbbells are an effective tool when you want to bulk up your arms or just tone them. By altering the structure of your dumbbell workout, you can achieve your goal.

If you want to go big and bulk up, it is best to use heavier weights and do fewer reps. If you are aiming to tone up, do the opposite and go for higher reps and lower weights.

We often associate strong arms with bulging bicep muscles. However, you can’t work the bicep in isolation. If you do, it will create a muscular imbalance that can lead to future injury. To counterbalance the bicep muscle, you also need to work the tricep muscle.

Some basic dumbbell arm exercises to start off with are:

  • Dumbbell Curls
  • Hammer Curls
  • Overhead press
  • Tricep Press

Adjust the weights, reps, and rest time to suit your goals but aim to complete 3 full sets.
